Each school year, over 2,800 children in Erie County lack the supplies needed to enter the classroom ready to learn. United Way of Erie County, The Volunteer Center, Stefano Dental and other local area businesses are partnering together. Our goal is to provide full backpacks to low-income children entering grades K-5 for the 2017/2018 school year. We will have a collection box in our reception area, from June 30^th-August 7^th , if you would like to make a donation to our community.

For the past few years we have been enjoying Jerri’s smiling face and gentle caring manner here at the office. In the next few weeks we will be saying goodbye to Jerri! We wish her good luck on life’s next journey as she is relocating due to her husband’s employment. We are happy to have Cierra here, she has been here since May and is excited to get to know all of you.

We are teaming up again this year with Ohio Go, and their mobile unit. We are excited for this fall! We will be going out to some neighborhoods with OHgo to talk about general basic dental care. Kendra and Christine the founders of OHgo, began to realize that the children they really wanted to reach had no way of coming to them. That is when they decided to go to them! They were determined to reach out to these families at their homes and in their neighborhoods. “How awesome would it be to go mobile, to deliver gifts and items of need to their doors, to throw events and bookmobile visits on their streets? We wanted to give these children the opportunity to thrive in their own environments. We love learning & staying up to date on the latest trends, techniques, and products. In September & November all Stefano Dental team members will be attending continuing education courses with the Ohio Dental Association & The Pride Institute. We are excited to learn as a team and will continue to improve on how to partner with you and each other better, so together we can experience incredible dentistry.

2016 Make-A-Vet-Smile day was amazing and we have decided to do it again! We want to help serve those who have served our country by closing our office on Friday, November 10^th 2017 to re-open for one day only as Make-A-Vet-Smile-Day! All veterans are welcome. We will be performing all aspects of dentistry from x-rays, exams, cleanings, fillings, root canals, and extractions all at no cost! So that we may care for as many patients as possible, we will only be addressing the most pressing dental concern teeth and follow up care may be needed. This will be first come, first served from 7:30am until 2pm.

Erin has had the pleasure of being a dental hygienist since 2005. In 2007, she joined the Stefano Dental team where she provides gentle and thorough cleanings. What she loves about this office is our passion to give each and every patient an incredible experience. She takes pride in helping our dental family get quality preventative care, and building new relationships with great people. She has been married to Jon since 2006 and they are proud parents of their two beautiful girls. They stay busy with sports, outdoor activities, and 4H. She also enjoys cooking for her family and OSU Football. GO BUCKS!

Buckeyes

2lbs powdered sugar                   

1       18oz jar smooth peanut butter

1       Cup unsalted butter

2       tsp vanilla

Dash of Salt

Cream together and form ½ inch balls Refrigerate at least 15mins

1       24oz Chocolate flavored bark

Using a small glass bowl, microwave 1 cube of chocolate for 1 min

Stir until creamy, then coat peanut butter ball until about ¾ of ball is covered leaving small circle at the top.

Place on wax paper to set.

Tips: Use a teaspoon or toothpick to dip peanut butter balls in chocolate, and only heat up one cube of chocolate at a time as it will thicken and get gummy after a while.
